Those of you that read our blog on a regular basis know I’ve been working hard on achieving my wellness goals with the help of my awesome Beachbody Coach, Rachel.  Before leaving on vacation, I was excited to see that the next accountability group was actually starting while I was away.  I thought it would help to keep me on track with my daily workouts and healthy eating.  So before my departure, I checked out the fitness center at our hotel for the daily offering of classes and equipment.  I must have actually been obsessing with it a bit, because one of my friends gave me an article about maintaining your weight while on vacation.  It’s not surprising really, but the articles main point was that you DON’T need to be in the gym everyday as long as you RELAX and DESTRESS!  It’s all about cortisol levels.  I believe it!  I really do, which is why I’ve been leaving my stressful day job behind and enjoying my days with the children by the pool playing and relaxing with a good book (I‘m currently reading The Book of Speculation by Erika Swyler).

That’s not to say I’m not moving.  In fact, the opposite is true.  I am keeping my healthy fitness habits tuned up.  At a resort this large, there is a lot of walking and property to explore, if you don’t take the tram.  There is also a great yoga class every morning at 10 am and water aerobics at noon.  Both of which are what you make of them.  You want to do them with a cocktail in hand so be it.  You want to push yourself and focus on contracting your muscles with each move, there is a workout to be had.  And those Water Olympic games are a killer cardiac workout.  It may be a bit unconventional, but I love it!
